Get the chance to visit up to 4 homes in our Landmark District as these homeowners graciously open their private residences for you to enjoy.  Guests will travel by trolley or walk from house to house and enjoy a sampling of two different wines in each of the homes. Light appetizers will make this tour a spectacular evening event!

Rebuilding Together Work Day

Rebuilding Together Savannah is a volunteer organization that in partnership with the community, rehabilitates the houses of low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly, disabled, and families with children so that they may continue to live in warmth, safety and independence. We are looking to put together a crew of Historic Savannah Foundation volunteers to work on Saturday, May 3, 2008 for this worthy cause. Roberta Brandes Gratz is an award-winning journalist, urban critic, and author of The Living City: Thinking Small in a Big Way, and Cities Back from the Edge: New Life for Downtown. She is an international lecturer on urban development issues and former reporter for the New York Post. Her books will be on sale at and prior to the event at www.historicsavannahfoundation.org. The author will be available to sign copies at a reception in Troup Square following the lecture.

The 10th Annual Mopper Stapen Seminar

'Historic Preservation is the Ultimate Recycling: Preservation and the Green Life'

This  years event will kick off with a  continental breakfast and seminar held at the Drayton Tower.  Immediately following the seminar, attendees will board trolleys where they will take a guided tour to view some of Savannah’s past, present, and future architectural achievements in the Landmark Historic and Victorian Districts.

 

2nd Annual Critz Race for Preservation 10k/5k

To Benefit Historic Savannah Foundation

 

On February 23, 2008, the 2nd Annual Critz Race for Preservation took place, leading more than 300 participants from Drayton Street in front of The Mansion on Forsyth to Daffin Park and back to the Forsyth fountain - all while taking in the beauty of 5 different historic districts.

 

Special thanks to all of the sponsors, participants, and volunteers who made this event such a success. We are already looking forward to the 2009 Race!
